Event Site
ChocoLate Soup is a do-it-yourself ceramic studio that offers unique bisqueware,ceramic painting, group events and artist workshops. Located in a charming cottage
in the beautiful Historic District of Fernandina Beach, where
the peaceful surroundings add a residential feeling to our cozy 50’s kitsch style studio.
Don't worry if you consider
yourself artistically challenged". We offer expert Instruction and have tons of ideas and design tools to assist your group on their creative adventure.
No experience is necessary. We
provide music, atmosphere, paint, brushes and all other painting materials. Remember, there’s always a skilled artist to help you with your ceramic piece.
ChocoLate Soup also has a retail area in the front of the studio where guests may purchase original
artworks, accessories for the home and art kits to go. Featuring the Whimsical Art of Linda Lee, Ceramic Artist.
Personalized and custom ceramic pieces can be pre-ordered to purchase as gifts. Please allow a 6-week lead-time
for all custom orders.
Studio Process
Step
One ~ Choose your Ceramic Package
Package A
Participants will select one piece
of Bisqueware from three to four different pre-selected serving pieces. Simultaneous painting instruction
is given for one type of painting design/technique. (This Package is recommended for two or more tables
of participants.)
Package
B
Participants will
select one piece of Bisqueware from our unique inventory to paint on their own. (Note: Additional Artists/Instructors
will be needed for this type of painting instruction in order to assist each individual guest with design ideas.) Whimsical, Shabby, Retro & Beach Cottage Styled Plaates, Platters & Bowls, Teapots, Mugs
& Pitchers, Baby, Kitchen & Bath items, Home & Garden, Lighting, Boxes & Banks, Plaques, Frames & Wall
Pockets, Lettters, Switch Plates, Draw Pulls and Bisque Beads. Also offer ing a unique selection of Bisque specially
poured for ChocoLate Soup.
Step
2 ~ Choose your Colors... We feature over 50 different colors to choose from! Including puffy paints, all non-toxic,
water-soluble and food safe.
Step
3 ~ Have Fun!… Once at the table you can sketch your design with a regular pencil (this will burn off during firing)
or you can just paint. The paints are ready to use, no water is necessary, and at least three coats are recommended
to have a rich, solid color. Just remember to let your piece dry in between coats and that light colors will not cover
dark colors very well.
Step 4 ~ Ready for Glazing… Once
your piece is painted, we will "glaze and bake your confection" so it will then be food, microwave and dishwasher
safe. We'll even clean up after you, so just leave your materials on the table!
Step 5 ~ Ready to see
your work!? Your finished masterpiece will later be shipped via USPS Priority Mail to the destination
of your choice. (Participants finished pieces will not be shipped until Final Payment has been received.)

PACKAGE PRICING / FINAL PAYMENT / GUARANTEE
Artists/Instruction
Most people are unsure about their artistic talent and have
a lot of questions, especially those who have never painted before. Our top concerns at ChocoLate Soup
are customer service along with the quality of the finished product. We only employ qualified artists to assist and demonstrate
different techniques for your guests; this allows a more personable one on one instruction with the participant. In addition,
after your guests have left and their individual pieces have dried this same team of Artists will glaze the finished pieces,
load and unload the kiln at our Firing Studio. The breakdown is one Artist per table to assist/oversee each participants progress.
One (1) Artist per table will be required for Package A,
maximum of 3 tables. Additional Artists will be needed for Package B.
Package Price:
Cost of Package $TBD per person. Pricing is based
on 3-hour studio time and a minimum guarantee of 18 guests.
Space is privately reserved for the duration
of the group’s session. Amenities and Services include; Studio Time, Set Up (Cloth Towels,
Placemats, Brushes etc), one Bisqueware Piece of Guest’s choice, Choice of over 50 Color glazes, Bumpy and Specialty
glazes, Clean Up, Professional clear glaze and firing “baking” of finished piece and USPS Priority Mail shipping.
(Guests on own for Lunch and does not include transportation.) Artist Fees priced separately based
on Package selected and number of attendees (see above for more details).
Additional
Services:
Studio Time can be extended at
the additional cost of $10.00 per person, per hour. * If numbers should exceed the maximum capacity of 18 guests. Please contact Chocolate
Soup to discuss the possibility of an alternate location and/or per-scheduling a second session.
Deposit
and
Final Guarantee
Deposit
A 50% deposit per session is required
at time of booking in order to guarantee space. Final Payment in the form of a company
check/cashier’s check or money order will be due no later then two (2) weeks prior to event, in order to avoid shipping
delays of finished pieces. Credit Card Payments will be considered with an additional processing
fee.
Final Guarantee:
Final Guarantee will be due two (2) weeks prior to event date, in order to guarantee inventory quantities.
Cancellation:
Full refund of deposit will be granted
up to 60 days prior to the event date. If cancellation should occur within one month from the event date a refund will only
be granted if the space can be resold for the same date and guarantee.
