How To Do It?

The Creative Process...

All my creations are handmade and painted in my studio using only the finest clay and top quality food safe ceramic glazes.

It actually takes several days to create just one ceramic piece.  Using both solid Clay (consistancy of Chocolate Fudge) and liquid clay slip (consistancy of Chocolate Soup) I will create the bowl or platter and then hand sculpt the decorate details which are then adhered with the liquid clay all before firing.  Once a piece is made it will need to dry for approximately one week before it's first firing.

Then each piece is kiln fired from Clay to Bisque at 1940F.  Then it’s fired a second time at 1828F, after all the hand painted details have been applied.  Each firing takes a full day to achieve accurate heating temperatures and cooling levels.

It’s back to the kiln for me... time to check on my newest hatchlings!

Thank you for your interest and I hope you keep enjoying my creations.
